Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for filmmakers, creators and storytellers, allowing individuals and small teams to take an idea further without diminishing the contribution of actors, writers, composers, crews or established filmmaking craft.
Every story deserves the chance to become a film. UK Film AI will recognise originality, storytelling and creative vision across fully AI and hybrid productions.
AI must play a meaningful creative role. Fully AI and hybrid films are welcome: live action, real actors, human or AI voices, traditional or AI VFX, music, sound and editing may all form part of the work. No arbitrary percentage applies.
We also welcome submissions over 10 minutes. Longer AI films will still be considered for selection and awards, although they will sit outside the standard Short Film category.
Ten films will be selected for the inaugural UK Film AI Top 10 and celebrated at London Film School on Sunday 23 May 2027.
How to Enter
Current direct entry: £10. Give us the film, the essential credits and a short explanation of how AI contributed.

International entries are welcome. Films must run between 3 and 10 minutes. UK Film AI will confirm the submission after payment verification.

Final Release tickets remain available until the event, subject to availability.
Festival Director
The UK Film AI Awards are led by a Festival Director with almost 50 years in technology, 25 years as a BAFTA Film voter, and 20 years supporting independent film as founder of UK Film Network.
His wider screen work includes creating Making It In Hollywood, producing Second Act, creating an AI short film, and making several AI music videos.
